START KNITTING WITH US
(And actually finish your first project)
New here? I teach monthly beginner classes, you can find the next one here.
This guide is your starting point. Follow it to make your first project, meet other crafters, and become part of KNIT PIT.
YOUR FIRST PROJECT
Start simple.
A dishcloth, scarf, or rectangle is perfect for practicing. You’ll get used to how the stitches feel, and that’s what matters most at first.
Need help getting started? We put together a list of what you’ll need → The Spreadsheet
It includes yarn, tools, and patterns we recommend.

Mistakes are normal. They’re part of knitting - and learning. Nobody here cares if it’s perfect.
2. YOUR FIRST MEETUP
Just show up.
We meet for Yarn Club at Eleventh Hour Brewing on the first Wednesday of every month. Come alone or with friends. Bring something to work on, or just come hang out.
If you're new, sit at the Friendship Table. It's the best way to meet people and get started. You don’t need to know anyone. You don’t need to do anything special. Just sit down and join.
3. YOUR FIRST POST
Share what you’re working on.
Once you start knitting, or when you finish something - share it.
Post in Discord → #finished-objects

Your project doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to be yours.
